My name is Ruby and the trustees say I am an “absolute black beauty” – whatever that means I have no idea, but it sounds good to me and they get very excited when they tell me!!!
I was born in September 2014, a failed racer, who has been time-trialled but just not fast enough. I have the most adorable sweet loving nature.
I am a confident, cheeky Irish girl who was given to Eila by my trainer, as my legs just wouldn’t run fast enough to make him any money, so I quickly became surplus to requirements!!!
There are so many of us in Ireland looking for homes as no-one wants us as pets, but the trustees tell me that’s all in the past and now I am with Bristol DAWG they have promised to find me a wonderful forever home of my own.
Greyhounds are unfortunately never bred to be anyone’s pet, but we make absolutely fantastic companions, just give me the chance and I will show you.
I am spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated and up to date with my flea and worm treatments, so I am good to go when you are.
I walk well on my lead, and I am enjoying my regular walks with John who takes me out every day. I am still a little wary of traffic, but the more I see the better I will become.
Although I have not really encountered children, the trustees think that as I am a gentle girl, I could live with children over eight years old, but they would have to be respectful of me.
At the moment I know nothing about home life and all the nice things that come with it, but I am really looking forward to seeing what is out in the big wide world.
If you are looking for a beautiful girl who is so excited to learn about life beyond a kennel, please call one of the trustees if you would like to come and meet me – they are waiting for your phone call.
Sadly I cannot live with cats.
