From the left, Bobby, Noreen and Robbie arrived at the kennels at silly o'clock this morning and, as ever, we thank Kristie and James for getting up to welcome them. More information will be available as we get to know them.

As part of the fund raising for Dawgust, Michael Turner is offering to a free Will writing service to anyone for the month, which is drawn up to your requirements for a donation to DAWG of £25.00 for a single will or £35.00 for a couple whose spouse is the beneficiary, with three bound copies of each. How it works is, you make the donation direct to DAWG and as soon as they have it he will write the Will with you. If you donate through the DAWG Just Giving site I you may also be eligible for Gift Aid, which will benefit DAWG. He was getting bored being retired anyway!

On the 25th August 2019  Imogen Draper will be doing a fifty mile sponsored cycle ride for Bristol DAWG!
She has always been passionate about animals and has chosen to support DAWG because greyhounds are a particularly mistreated breed. The money Imogen raises will help DAWG to rescue more dogs and take care of them until they find a forever home.
She is very excited to complete this challenge and has been training hard all year in the hope of raising as much money as she can for the dogs.
There is a Just Giving page:

Tim Watkins is cycling 100 miles in the Ride London event on the 4th August, and is doing it for DAWGust.
His super-hound Dylan came from DAWG. Any help, however small would be appreciated, and spur him on to overcome the pain of that saddle.

Carrie (left) and Nancy are the latest girls to join Bristol DAWG from our friend Eila Moloney in Ireland. As usual, Kristie and James welcomed them, on our behalf, in the early hours of the morning.

14 August 2019

Meet Spot and Ella, two more lucky girls making their way over the Irish Sea this evening in search of a better life. As always, Eila Moloney, we are grateful for everything you do for these dogs to give them a better life.

Think it is fair to say we are now well and truly full - we have seventeen dogs looking for homes, so please spread the word if you know anyone looking for a new companion, obviously subject to our re-homing criteria.

19 August 2019

We would like to thank Deborah Herbert-Jarvis of The Fox at Yate for hosting a Friends Quiz Evening for our DAWGUST appeal.

£210 was raised and we all had a really enjoyable evening - we all got there early and had food, which was really good and excellent value for money.

We are so grateful for every penny raised which helps rescue more greyhounds in Ireland.

Thank you to everyone who supported the evening.

21 August 2019

We would like to thank everyone who has registered and uses Easyfundraising. We have just received the largest cheque so far £686.95 - and we didn't have to do anything for it apart from click on the link when you shop on line.

If you shop online, please take a moment to register at www.easyfundraising.org.uk and help raise money for the dogs in our care - it really doesn't cost you anything but can make a big difference to us.

If you are looking for our charity we are registered as Bristol Dog Action Welfare Group.

Thank you all you lovely DAWG people.

24 August 2019

Thank you to Dave, Lynne, Barbara and all their lovely hounds for undertaking a charity collection yesterday in Wells. They collected £323.50p which Dave tells me they would like to donate to the DAWGUST Appeal which will enable our very good friend Eila Moloney to save more hounds.

We are so lucky to have such wonderful people supporting the work we do.

26 August 2019

We would like to thank Catherine Neck and Lynette Butler for organising the walk and raffle today. Enjoyed by everyone, and most importantly, just in excess of £400 has been raised towards the DAWGUST Appeal to help Eila Moloney rescue more greyhounds.

Lovely day, great walk, wonderful food in The Lamb, all in all a thoroughly enjoyable way to spend Bank Holiday Monday and no traffic jams!

Gerry met with Catherine Neck this morning to make Birdie's adoption final. Sadly she was returned to Bristol DAWG following a relationship breakdown, and was fostered by Ann, one off our lovely foster mums.

Birdie has been with Catherine, Justin and their lurcher, Percy, for the last two weeks and all has gone really well - in fact she hasn't put a paw wrong and Percy appears to like her.

Thank you Catherine and Justin for giving this sweet girl a lovely new home, we know she will never want for anything again.

28 August 2019

What a greyt evening at the pub quiz tonight! Loads of DAWG supporters, good food, interesting questions and won by a DAWG team - the fact that it raised well over £200 was almost a bonus! Thank you to the Codrington Arms for organising it and inviting us and special thanks to the quizmaster.

Delighted to tell you that lovely Frank has found his forever home and has been adopted by Jenny, Matt and their girls. He now has a brother called Kodi and was so excited when Diane walked in that ten minutes later he was too exhausted to pose for a photo!
You may remember he had been passed from pillar to post in his short life before he came to us so it was lovely to see him looking so happy and settled this morning. Have a long and happy life handsome boy
