December 2019

Diane went to Royal Wootton Bassett this morning to finalise Julie’s adoption. Now called Winnie she is settling well with her new family. Only a couple of accidents and she did find the bag of spuds when left for twenty minutes. Alex found them scattered in the kitchen and one found it’s way into Winnie’s bed with teeth marks! Thank you for giving this special girl her forever home, she looks very happy and content.

Grand Charity Ball, 2020

17 December 2019

We're very happy to announce that, just short of its eleventh anniversary, Bristol DAWG has acquired its very own rescue centre! Our new premises are situated in the village of Biddisham, near Axbridge and comprise a house and triple garage with heated kennels and a small stable block set in four acres. We have always been working towards this dream but honestly never believed it would be achieved so quickly!
We owe so much to so many of you for your support and for that we can never thank you enough. Even knowing you are out there and have our backs helps us to keep going when the going gets tough.
This post would not be complete without alluding to some very special people without whom we would not be in this position today, Tonew Kennels, who have supported us loyally for longer than any of us would care to remember and for whom nothing is ever too much trouble. You will be greatly missed Mandy, Kristie and Paul.
We hope we can look forward to welcoming some of you to the new kennels when we have settled in, meanwhile, We thank you all for your ongoing support.

Lovely news this morning - Ernie has gone to his forever home. This lovely boy has been waiting quite a while but he has gone to live with Jo in Long Ashton. Many thanks to Denise Smart for fostering and rehabilitating him - he came to us in very poor condition and now looks beautiful and shiny and knows right from wrong. Be happy Ernie

21 December 2019

Thank you to Dave, Lynne, Barbara, Immy and Anita, not forgetting the hounds, for braving the weather today and collecting in Chippenham, raising £305.48p

The hounds looked very festive - who could resist.

24 December 2019

Greyt news, Robby has a new home for Christmas! He has been on home trial for two weeks, with John and Deena Downs and their two dogs Jade, another Bristol DAWG greyhound, and Kai, a GSD . All dogs are getting on really well and the adoption has been made official this afternoon.

Thank you both for giving Robby a lovely new home and Jane  and Norman Worth for fostering Robby during which time he became a fabulous fundraising dog and we do miss him whilst out collecting. Also thanks to Eila Moloney for rescuing this sweet boy.

31 December 2019

Many of you will remember little Freddie the nine year old lurcher who was returned to us just before Christmas - well what a Happy New Year for this boy, he has found his forever sofa in Bishopsworth with Sue West. Thank you for giving this slightly more mature boy a wonderful new home.

Massive thanks also to Deb Martin for very kindly fostering this sweet lad, as going to kennels would have been hard for him.

31 December 2019

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has made a Christmas donation, either in the form of a shoebox or cash and all those people who have given up their time to partake in the Christmas collections. We are extremely grateful to you all, as are the dogs in our care.
