Bristol DAWG were represented this year at the Bristol Pride Dog Show by Jane and Diane and, as usual, a wonderful time was had by all!

Thank you to everyone who helped at the Dog Show this afternoon, especially Penny Owen and her husband Lindsay for organising this event, which raised £447.07 for Bristol DAWG

It was a lovely relaxing afternoon.

On the 25th August 2019  Imogen Draper will be doing a fifty mile sponsored cycle ride for Bristol DAWG!
She has always been passionate about animals and has chosen to support DAWG because greyhounds are a particularly mistreated breed. The money Imogen raises will help DAWG to rescue more dogs and take care of them until they find a forever home.
She is very excited to complete this challenge and has been training hard all year in the hope of raising as much money as she can for the dogs.
There is a Just Giving page:

Meet Marley who only came into our care today so we know very little about him so far. He is around twelve weeks old and is said to be Greyhound x Saluki.

He is very playful, as bright as a button, chews everything and doesn’t have an off switch! He has remarkably sharp little teeth and really enjoys chewing your fingers and anything else he can reach!

He only had his first vaccinations today so isn’t going anywhere for a few weeks until he’s fully vaccinated. He is going to go to some puppy parties soon to start his socialisation.

If you are genuinely interested in him you need to be prepared to devote a lot of time and patience. He needs lots more socialisation and puppy classes would be a huge benefit. You really do need to start from scratch. All our adoptions are dependent on a successful home check.

Rhea arrived at the kennels in the early hours of this morning to seek her fortune with Bristol DAWG. What a beauty she is. We are grateful once more to Kristie and James for getting out of bed to settle her in.

Big thank you to Dave, Lynne, Barbara, Immy, and of course Karma, Spirit, Lara and Brian, the lovely hounds, for undertaking a Street Collection in Chippenham yesterday. People there are always generous and they raised £203.25

Think the lovely Luna charms everyone she meets. She certainly charmed Tim and Lucy when they came to meet her on Tuesday evening.

Luna is now living in Wells and we know she will have a wonderful life and will never want for anything ever again.
We would like to say thank you to Karen Austin, Dave and their children for welcoming yet another foster into their home. As usual they did an amazing job, and I know how difficult it was to let Luna go.
We must also thank our very good friend Eila Moloney for saving her in Ireland - where would she be now Eila if not for you!!!!

Very exciting day for Marley today and the biggest adventure of all - he’s gone to his forever home!
Now called Barney, he’s gone to live with Ann and Pete in Thornbury. He has two Collie cousins to play with four days a week so he’ll get lots of exercise and will be well socialised!
Thank you for giving this cuddly little pup a lovely home and for your very generous donation.

Tim Watkins is cycling 100 miles in the Ride London event on the 4th August, and is doing it for DAWGust.
His super-hound Dylan came from DAWG. Any help, however small would be appreciated, and spur him on to overcome the pain of that saddle.

Gerry spent a lovely hour today with the Appleton family to formalise the adoption for Rupert. This little boy is just so happy now and has really bonded with Peter his new dad, so lovely to see, as he was very timid with men when he first arrived.

Thanks as ever go to Sharon and Nick Foulger for fostering Rupert, although this has to be one of the shortest fosters ever, but the lovely Munch did us proud once again so we could "cat test" Rupert.

What a lovely mellow afternoon at the Greyhound Gathering in Eastville Park today. Congreytulations to the organisers for all the work they put in and I'm glad they were rewarded with such perfect weather. It was lovely to meet up with so many former Bristol Dawgs.  All in all a good day. I hope everyone else enjoyed it too.
