Dave, Lynne and Barbara, with Lara and Spirit, managed to find some shade at Trowbridge and raised £81-32. Due to the intense heat they left Marley and Karma at home as they are both around eleven. Anyway they stayed until 2.15 but with the football as well it went very quiet, however there was a lot of interest.

The best news so far this month. The lovely Ice arrived at Bristol DAWG in June 2017 from Spain, so he has been with us over a year. The life of the Galgo in Spain is not a nice one and we can only imagine what he went through, as he was such a nervous boy, especially around men.
He was lucky enough, after four months, to move into foster with Sharon and Nick Foulger and their three DAWG dogs.
Ice stayed with Sharon and Nick for eight months, but still not liking men, no matter how they tried.
Ice has now been adopted by Victoria, who also adopted Lucy from us last year and is now living happily in Bath. Ice definitely needed a friend for confidence, and Lucy was the girl for him.
We cannot thank Nick and Sharon enough for the time and patience they have shown Ice. Wonderful fosterers!!
Be happy Ice, you had a bad start, but you will have a lovely life going forward.

Let's end the week with some brilliant news. Robyn our sweet little black girl has found her forever home in Martock with Suzanne. She has been in her new home since Sunday and has settled really well. Robyn waited a little longer for her new home, as the black dogs sometimes aren't chosen so quickly, but if Robyn could talk I am sure she would tell us it was well worth the wait.
Be happy Robyn, life is just about to begin x
Thanks to Diane Sweet who did travel a little further to do this home check.
Thanks also to Eila Moloney for saving Robyn.

Let's hope we raise lots of money to enable Eila Moloney to save more dogs.

Meet the next three dogs who will be making their way over the Irish Sea, on the nineteenth of this month, in search of a better life. Thank you Eila Moloney for saving them - all black and they may take a little longer to re-home but they are safe.
We have Ellie two years old, Allen three years old and Nicole who is five years old.

Everyone at Bristol DAWG would like to thank Gina Green and her team for a lovely event yesterday. We all thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon.
Thank you to all the DAWG dogs that came along to see us, it was amazing to see so many of you, especially dogs that we re-homed, five, six or seven years ago still going strong and looking in fabulous condition.
As usual people were very generous and Jane's stall raised an amazing £250.
A special thank you to everyone who popped money in our "DAWGUST" bucket for the lovely Eila Moloney, which raised £185 - unbelievable, people are just so generous.
Lastly thank you to the people who very kindly helped us pack up at the end of the day in the heat, your help was much appreciated.

Greyt night playing bingo in aid of Dawgust. As ever thanks are due to everyone involved in the organisation of the evening, but extra special thanks to Colin, our Fund Raising Coordinator. Colin not only makes an absolutely brilliant bingo caller - i think he missed his vocation - but, for the second year running, he has matched the total for the evening, pushing the amount raised to over £1,500! This from someone who already puts an awful lot of time and effort into supporting DAWG. Thank you Colin!

Lucky Red has landed on all four paws.
He has found his forever home with Chris and Sharon who live in Severn Beach. When Gerry went to complete the paperwork this afternoon she couldn't believe how settled he was, it looked like he had been there all his life, he just seemed so happy and content.
Thank you both for giving this sweet boy a lovely home, and thanks for the donation to our "DAWGUST" appeal - you are very kind.
Look forward to seeing him again next week at the Cream Tea Afternoon.
One last thank you to Jo Upton for fostering Red whilst he was waiting for that special home.

Another happy ending! Bernie has found her forever home in Princetown, West Devon with Shelia and Gregg. What a lucky girl she is to have found such a lovely home. Her cheeky side is starting to come out, but Shelia and Gregg are absolutely thrilled with her and she has settled into home life so quickly.
Thank you to Eila Moloney for saving this sweet girl and thanks to Amanda Jane for transporting Bernie and helping Shelia and Gregg.
Have a lovely life Bernie.
