Stay safe everybody!

Very happy to tell you that our lovely black girl Emer has found her forever home. She has gone to live with Mike and Shirl who very sadly lost their brindle girl Cass (was Lass) just a couple of weeks ago. Emer is a very nervous girl who is settling into home life very slowly but they have seen a big change in just a week. Have a long and happy life Emer, I’m sure it won’t be long before you’re up to mischief!!

Thank you once again to Platinum Petcare for organising an online quiz for us via Zoom. It was great fun with interesting and varied questions which raised over £250 and was won by the Worth team.

7 June 2020

Great news to start the day, our lovely Laddie has definitely landed on all four paws. He has found his forever home in Winterbourne with Ashley, Hannah and their family.
Ashley and Hannah had two greyhounds previously from Bristol DAWG, but lost their beautiful boy a few months ago, so the house felt very empty.
Gerry went to complete the paperwork this morning and it was like he had always been there. Lucky, lucky Laddie.

Hope came into the rescue two weeks ago from a dismal situation and in poor condition. She never even made it to the website before being fostered by Alex and Andy, who had recently lost their beloved Treacle.  Hope is now very settled and loving life and will be staying where she is permanently. Have a long and happy life Hope - you deserve it.

14 June 2020

Wonderful news this morning
and Nick and Sharon F0ulger
have become failed foster parents (again!). Sarge has been with them through lockdown and they just couldn't bear to part with him, so he has officially joined the "Foulger Gang".
There is always a special one and obviously Sarge has filled that position!!
Thank you both for everything you do for Bristol DAWG we are extremely grateful to you both, and also to Munch, the cat, for allowing so many dogs to be "cat tested" whilst with you.
Happy days Sarge you are a lucky boy.

14 June 2020

Two new dogs were delivered to the rescue centre yesterday by Gerry. Very friendly dogs, both interested in their new surroundings, and enjoyed their couple of walks around the paddock, and then quietly settled in for the rest of the day.
Buddy on the right and Noah, who is actually a girl!
Thank you to Graham and Catherine Hendy for taking the lovely pictures in the paddock.
Both dogs travelled really well, didn't hear a peep out of either of them, and both jumped in the van quite happily.
Now they are at the rescue centre, they will be assessed and added to the website in due course.

20 June 2020

Megan and Kim Simpkins-Jenkins very kindly organised a second quiz for us via Zoom tonight. Diane and Jane triumphed again and the two quizzes together have raised more than £650. They are planning a third ten round quiz in two weeks time! Please keep an eye on here or our Facebook page for further details.

Our lovely Dakota, one of two sisters, is winging her way to Chepstow to start her new life with the Harris family. Now called Pepper, she will be greatly missed at the rescue centre as her sheer happiness and joy of life makes everyone laugh every day.
Be happy and be good.

20 June 2020

Gerry spent a lovely hour this morning completing the paperwork for Prince who has gone to live in Westbury-on-Trym with the Hughes family. Only been in his new home twenty four hours and already looks very settled.
Good boy overnight and gave everyone a lovely welcome this morning.
Thanks once again to Catherine
and Graham Hendy for yet another amazing foster. Your hard work makes the transition into a new home easy for our dogs.

Meet Mel, Percy and Orla who arrived at the kennels today and who will be looking for their forever homes just as soon as they've been assessed - watch this space!

26 June 2020

Some greyt news to end the week. Gerry has just completed the adoption paperwork for Duchess (now renamed Manuka) who went on a two week home trial, as she had to learn to live with another dog, a cat and chickens!!!
It has not been two weeks but her new owners, Rosie and Jim, who live in Exminster, have decided that she isn't going anywhere and they are delighted with her.
This is a lovely ending as Duchess and Dakota (now Pepper) arrived together and were very close, so rehoming them almost within a week of each other has been brilliant.
Thank you Rosie and Jim for giving this sweet young girl her forever home and thank you to Daisy Sweet for fostering her - you did a brilliant job. Finally thanks to our very good friend Eila Moloney for rescuing her in Ireland.

28 June 2020

Gerry spent a lovely hour this afternoon completing the paperwork for Jack. Ellie and Will picked Jack up yesterday and I think it is fair to say they are totally smitten.
Jack is living in Bradley Stoke so hopefully Gerry will see him out and about.
We must thank K
ristian Keyte
and Shaun Flook
for fostering Jack whilst he was waiting for his forever home - you did an amazing job.
Thanks also to Eila Moloney
for rescuing him in Ireland.
This boy has definitely landed on all four paws, thank you Ellie and Will for giving him such a wonderful new home.

30 June 2020

Mel (now Melvin!) has gone to his forever home today, having only been with us just over a week, coming over on the boat last weekend. He is a young boy, just eighteen months old, very bouncy and playful and I’m sure will have a whale of a time with his new family. Thank you for giving him another chance, we all hope you’ll have many happy years together.
