Well done to Diane Sweet and Jess Ward, who did a car boot sale at Portishead today, raising a magnificent £135!

Date for your diaries
The annual Iron Acton Dawgust charity walk will be held on Sunday 26 August. Full details to follow, however it will include a few refreshment (aka pub!) stops and a raffle after the walk. Hopefully the weather will be as kind as it was last year and we will see lots of hounds and their humans and raise lots of money for DAWG.

Wonderful news our very handsome Hal has found his forever home in Bishopston with Caitlin and Joseph. What a lucky boy he is to have found such lovely owners.

We must say a massive "thank you" to Denise Smart for fostering Hal whilst he was waiting for his own sofa - I gather he has already found this!! Denise Smart you do an amazing job with all your foster dogs and we are so lucky to have you.

Thank you to our wonderful fosterer, Tricia Morrison, who donated the proceeds of the sale of her shed to Bristol DAWG. Very much appreciated.

It's Barney's birthday today, born in Ireland 8 June 2015, raced at the Limerick track, and then saved by the lovely Eila Moloney.

What a wonderful third birthday for Barney (now renamed Joseph and pictured above with our secretary, Gerry) he has a new forever home - hooray.

John and Claire have a few small furry animals so it had to be a special dog who didn't take too much notice - there was initial interest, but following a two week home trial things are working out well.

Thank you John and Claire for giving this lovely boy a new home and thanks to Eila Moloney for saving him.

Bristol DAWG had some absolutely fantastic news yesterday - Karen Austin and her family have joined the "failed fosterers club"!!

They have been fostering Rhonda for a couple of months, and when she arrived she was absolutely terrified, she still has a long way to go, as there are still quite a few things that she is very wary of, but she is making such great progress with Karen, Dave and their children that they can't bear the thought of her moving again and upsetting her.

The best news ever for Rhonda, but we will miss Karen and Dave as they have been amazing fosterers over the years for Bristol DAWG.

Thank you Karen and Dave for fostering so many.

Massive thanks to everyone who supported the Fun Dog Show at the Mangotsfield Festival today - everyone is extremely grateful for your support and all monies raised will enable the charity to rescue more dogs.

This event gets busier every year with more dogs attending. This year Best In Show was a lovely Springer Spaniel called Chewbacca, very well deserved.

Thank you to Megan Simpkins-Jenkins and Stacey Nevill for judging the show, with so many dogs in the ring it was so difficult to pick at times. You both did an amazing job.

23 June 2018

Thank you Dave, Lynne, Barbara, Immy and not forgetting the lovely dogs Marley, Lara, Karma and Spirit for undertaking a Street Collection in Frome yesterday.
We are so lucky to have such nice people supporting the work we do.

🐾🐾Competition Time🐾🐾

To raise more funds for DAWGUST to enable Eila to rescue more wonderful dogs, we are running a photo competition. Pictures of the winners will appear on a poster advertising planned DAWGUST events.
A shortlist will be drawn up by head judge Jake Harris, our youngest volunteer at just 10 years old. The trustees will then decide on the winners. We are looking for four winners - best Greyhound/Lurcher girl and boy, best non-pointy nose girl and boy. Please remember to tell us your dog's name.

To enter your dog/s just send a picture and donate £2 to the DAWGUST 2018 Just Giving page. Closing date for entries is Friday 20th July at 7pm.
Sorry trustees but you cannot enter your dogs😊

Nancy has gone missing in the Filton area and was last seen at MBDA at about 19.30 hrs. Please look out for her if you are in the area.

30 June 2018

I'm very happy and relieved to be able to tell you that Nancy returned home, under her own steam, in the early hours of this morning none the worse for her little adventure. Thank you to everybody for their support and helpful suggestions.

Congratulations to Jane and Norman Worth for once again joining the failed fosterers club! Their gang has been joined by another whippet called Jessie, who will now be called Honey Bee, to avoid confusion. Good luck to all of you in your future together.
