Bristol DAWG

Greyhound and Lurcher Rescue

1 November 2020

We are now in a position to offer boarding to dogs that have been previous residents of Bristol DAWG. Spaces will be limited, as we only want to keep this on a small scale, but we are constantly asked for recommendations when people are looking to go on holiday or that odd weekend away.
To leave your dog with us we would need to see proof that your dog is fully vaccinated and has had the kennel cough vaccine – sadly we are not able to accept any dogs without up to date vaccinations.

Another happy ending today, little Honey who came to us a few weeks ago has found her forever home with Neil and Vikki in Downend.
Gerry went to complete the paperwork this afternoon and in the hour she had been there she already knows where the food cupboard is and has made herself at home on the sofa!!!
Thank you for giving Honey a wonderful new home.

Gerry went to Arnos Vale this morning to complete the adoption for Hannah (now Minnie). We had to get the right dog for Catherine and Matthew as they have a four storey town house and we all know what greyhounds are like with stairs!!! When Minnie arrived she was such a confident girl we felt if any dog could do it she could. When I arrived this morning she came down to greet me, how quickly she has learnt in just 24 hours. (She came down again with me when I left!!)
Good girl overnight, nice and quiet, no accidents, lovely walk in the local park where she wanted to say "hello" to everybody and I think it is fair to say Catherine and Matthew are totally smitten.
Thank you both for giving this lovely girl the home she so deserves, thanks also to
Eila Moloney
for rescuing her in Ireland.

Lovely news, Maggie has found her forever home in Henbury with Ian and  Ruth Moss
When Maggie arrived we quickly discovered that she had quite a few insecurities and really needed a friend to help give her the confidence that she needed. Ian and Ruth have a very confident young female lurcher, Dinky, who is absolutely adorable, and she and Maggie have become good friends, they now play together, share the sofa and wash each others ears!! Maggie is still concerned about the big wide world, but this will be a slow process.
Thank you for giving Maggie a wonderful new home and thanks to Graham and Catherine Hendy for fostering Maggie for a few weeks after she arrived from Ireland.
Eila Moloney - another success story.
